The Royal School of Needlework runs Day Classes for complete beginners and many other courses to develop existing skills. The RSN Certificate and Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery teaches hand embroidery techniques to a very high standard and our Future Tutors programme is training the RSN embroidery teachers of tomorrow.
The RSN welcomes everyone onto our small, friendly classes taught by our expert RSN-trained tutors. Whether you are complete beginner or have years of experience we have over 100 Day Classes for you to choose from. Day Classes are taught throughout the year at the RSN at Hampton Court Palace and on set days in Exeter, Bristol, Rugby and Glasgow and internationally in San Francisco, USA.
“I really am a total beginner, and my tutor did not assume any prior knowledge or experience. She is such a craftswoman, and very young but she was a great teacher.”
Susan Betts, Surrey

“I did Art and Design A-Level and then went to the Royal School of Music and Drama in Cardiff to do a BA (Hons) in Theatre Design, specialising in costume. I then worked for the Welsh National Opera in their Touring Wardrobe Department. It’s been a big change for me moving to Hampton Court to study. It’s a lot of hard work as the standard expected from you is so high, but I have learnt so much already”
